WHAT IS THE PUEBLO production unit?
In film, television and media, ‘production’ refers to the tasks that must be completed or executed during filming. This includes tasks such as setting up scenes, the capture of raw footage, and usage of set designs, to name a few of the many pre-production tasks. Production is the second step in film creation. It follows the pre-production phase and evolves into the post-production stage.
We realize that education, training and certification are essential for a robust workforce in our local economy. Our Production Unit is designed to serve as a learning experience for those looking for opportunities in the film industry. It also serves as a resource for productions crews coming to Pueblo for a project. By strengthening our film ecosystem locally, we will have the staff and resources to teach the essentials of pre-production, production and post-production.
economic development
Pueblo Regional Film Commission aims to help foster the growth, sustainability, competitiveness and business attraction of Pueblo’s film, television and digital media industry. This in turn supports rural economic development, promotes tourism, employs Puebloans and brings diversity to our regional economy. The film industry directly employs skilled local workers, with many other businesses being impacted by production-induced spending, such as hotels, caterers and lumber companies.
workforce development
The Pueblo Regional Film Commission is committed to providing opportunities for Puebloans to get their start in the film and television industry.
The Commission partners with Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University Pueblo to offer Film & TV Training Seminars (FTVTS). These two-day courses are designed to teach the basics of production assistant training, scheduling, wardrobe and costuming. In addition, the Commission is working with representatives of the military to bring veterans to these seminars.
